Accreditations & Affiliations
SDI Training is committed to the highest standards of professional and institutional accreditation. Our programmes align with the recognised South African, regional, and international bodies listed below — ensuring that every certificate we issue carries weight with procurement teams, regulators, and professional councils across the African continent.
Accreditations in progress
SDI Training is currently pursuing accreditation with the following bodies. Each application is at a defined stage of the process; we expect the first cohort of accreditations to be confirmed within the next 90 days.
- SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority) — Application in progress. SDI programmes will be aligned to relevant unit standards, allowing delegates to claim SETA recognition on completion of accredited programmes.
- BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) — Verification underway via an approved BBBEE verification agency. SDI is targeting a Level 2 contributor rating to enable our public-sector and corporate clients to claim meaningful procurement recognition.
- PMI (Project Management Institute) — Application for Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) status. Our programme management and monitoring & evaluation courses will award PMI Professional Development Units (PDUs).
- ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) — Application for CPD recognition on financial management, IPSAS, and IFRS programmes.
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) — Application for CPD recognition on procurement, supply chain, and contract management programmes.
- SAICE (South African Institution of Civil Engineering) — CPD provider application in preparation.
Why accreditation matters
For our institutional clients, accreditation is not a marketing claim — it is a procurement requirement. Public-sector tender evaluators, donor-funded programme teams, and large corporate L&D functions all require that training providers can demonstrate alignment with recognised quality frameworks before awarding contracts. SDI’s accreditation roadmap is designed to meet these requirements head-on, opening procurement shortlists that are currently closed to non-accredited providers.
For individual delegates, accreditation means that the time and money invested in an SDI programme carries verifiable, externally-recognised value. CPD points count toward professional body membership. SETA-aligned unit standards count toward national qualifications frameworks. This is the difference between a certificate that sits in a drawer and one that compounds in career value over time.
Our quality framework
Independently of formal accreditation, every SDI programme is delivered against the SDI 5-Step Capacity Transfer Framework: Discovery & Diagnostic → Curriculum Design → Delivery & Coaching → Application Project → Measure & Certify. Each stage has defined inputs, outputs, and a quality gate. The framework is externally auditable and is the basis on which we will pursue ISO 9001 certification in Year 2.
Verification
Every SDI certificate carries a unique verification code that can be independently verified via a public URL on our site. Certificates issued after October 2026 are also blockchain-secured using the Blockcerts standard, allowing recipients and third parties to verify authenticity without contacting SDI directly.
